Sunday Love

Sunday's are one of my favorite days of the week - church, family time, and a restful day are the perfect combination before a full week! I believe that Sunday's make or break one's week - maybe not totally, but when you start a Sunday thanking God for all of His blessings, it'll make you more thankful for everything throughout the week!
Glory to God for another day to shine His light ~ isn't it so awesome we have the opportunity to live for him each day.  Let's make each moment count this week!

How to Have a Successful First Day

Most colleges around here start classes this coming week.  The first day can be nerve wracking - mostly if you're an incoming college freshman on a new campus!  Here are some easy steps to take to ensure you have a smooth first day with no surprises!

1. Find your classes before the first day of class

This will ensure that you don't get lost - and it makes you look confident in knowing where you're going!  It will also help to determine how long it takes you to get from one class to the next so that you won't be late on your first day ~ so grab your roommate or a friend and venture out to explore - you might find some pretty neat study spaces or a good area to relax between classes too!

2. Print out and read over the syllabus

Some teachers send out their syllabus before the class begins, which is good but also terrifying if they send it out while you're still on "summer break!"  I usually print it out when they send it, and then read over it the day before the class just so I can know what to expect and how much time will need to be allowed to do assignments and projects.

3. Write down big assignments

Once you do get all of your assignments for your classes, the  best thing to do is to write all the assignments down in your planner.  This will help keep everything organized in the long run ~ and if you notice you have two big things due on the same day, then you can work on them ahead of time so you're not overwhelmed! Trust me, you will want to plan ahead.

4. Get your books ahead of time

Some colleges rent their books and some college make students buy their books (at an expensive rate).  If your college has a cheap rental process, then by all means take advantage and get them before the first day of classes! And if they only have a bookstore where you have to buy 5 $100 dollar books, then wait until you actually go to the class in order to see if it "required" and if you will have to use it a lot.  If you don't absolutely need the book, then it's doubtful that you will use it even if you do have it.  Also, always check amazon to see if their prices are cheaper!

5. Wear comfortable shoes!

I can not stress this one enough! Of course everyone wants to look nice on their first day (or week) but you're going to do more walking that you think and your feet will thank you if you wear shoes that don't hurt.  There is such a thing as pretty shoes that are comfortable - so find them and wear them!!

6. Get to know people in your classes

Throughout the year you will make lots of friends, but it is always important to have friends from your classes too - this doesn't mean you have to hang out with them ever free second you have, but it will be good to have someone to study with and help you with assignments if you need it.

7. SMILE!

Although back to school can be a drag, it's fun if you make it fun!  Smile and enjoy each opportunity college throws your way - it'll be over before you know it.

Praying y'all have a great day, week, and even year at school!

Gallery Wall

It's been one of my summer goals to make a gallery wall in my room. Now it's the last week of summer, I finally got it finished!  I love the pop of color that fun prints add to any room!  The best thing about making a gallery wall - is that there are no rules. You can mix and match prints, frames, sizes, anything!  Check out mine, and then send me some pictures of some of your favorite gallery walls at glorygraceglitter@gmail.com!
I got most of the prints at Paper Source - they have so so many cute items (and they carry a lot of adorable Kate Spade products too!)

Have a great day! Xoxo,

Lilly Pulitzer Finds

I hope y'all had as much fun shopping Lilly Pulitzer's After Party Sale as I did! I was so excited for it that I could hardly sleep last night. I was ready to go at 7 am - I got a little discouraged by the virtual line, but then was so excited when I was allowed onto the site to shop! They had some great deals that I just couldn't let myself pass up.  Plus, Lilly only puts their items on sale twice a year - this is a big deal y'all!  Such fun a fabulous prints are sure to make any day brighter!

These are some of my favorite finds - I almost couldn't stop myself from shopping!

The sale continues until tomorrow, so head over to Lilly Pulitzer before it's over!

God is Good

I don't know about y'all, but there is nothing better than knowing that God has a great plan for my life.  It is so simple for me to dream and plan, but when my plans fall through, I can rest assured knowing that God has something better in store.  Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite Bible verses:
For the past two years I have attended the University of Illinois - I made great friends, learned so much about myself, and most of all grew so much in my faith.  However, I felt the Lord leading me to transfer schools - I will be attending Eastern Illinois University this fall and am so excited for how God will use me and guide me this year!

His ways are better than my ways, and His plans are greater than my plans.

Back to School Preparation

Happy August!  The only downside of August is the end of summer and beginning of school.  However, I do get really excited about back to school supplies and pretty notebooks!  I thought it would be fitting to put together some class necessities for a new semester.

Class Must-Haves

laptop | backpack
notebook | agenda
calculator | pencil pouch
pens | water bottle
paper clips | lipgloss
gim | umbrella | coffee cup

Hopefully these items will help each class go smoothly!
