September Favorites

One of my favorite bloggers, Prep In Your Step, always does a post on her favorites from this month, and I thought that would be so fun to round up some of my favorite things from September!

Fall weather and fall decorations are of course my favorite thing.
I do not know what I would do or how I would stay sane without my Lilly planner!
I've re-fallen in love with eos lip balm and am so happy about it.
My Kate Spade coffee mug makes every morning better!
Who doesn't love delicious pumpkin-y scented candles???
My favorite k-cup lately is chai latte - it's perfect for fall mornings!
Le pens are actually perfect for any writing task.

Bring on October and more FALL!

What are your favorites?

Fall Baking

I've been loving seeing all of the yummy fall recipes appear on my Pinterest lately, and I can not wait to go home this weekend and bake at least one of the mouthwatering creations!
Of course there are probably some healthy fall dishes that would be tasty and fun to make, but my favorite is desserts - so here are some that are on my radar:

Soft Pumpkin Cookies with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing

I think these sound (and look) super good! I am sure my family would love them too.
Find the recipe here!

Brown Sugar Pecan Cinnamon Rolls

These would be perfect for a splurge breakfast on a nice crisp morning.  I have never made cinnamon rolls from scratch before, but this recipe seems like it would be a good place to start!
Find the recipe here!

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles are so fun and SO easy to make.  These snickerdoodles with a fun fall twist look delectable and I am sure they would be gone from the cookie jar in a flash.
Find the recipe here!

There are actually so so so many more recipes I hope to try this fall, but definitely I will be making these ones soon! Enjoy your day!

A Weekend View

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start and that you're looking forward to the fall weather this week (I know I am!) I feel like I've been doing so good at crossing things off of my fall bucket list already! I went to visit friends this weekend and we had so much fun together.

On Friday night I went with my big to barn dance! We had so much fun hanging out and dancing the night away.  There were flannels galore and a fire to roast marshmallows and hot dogs.

On Saturday a group of us went to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard.  It was so cute and the weather was perfect! We had apple donuts and hot apple cider to eat and they were delicious!

I hope you all have an enjoyable and productive week!

Fall

It's fall time and I could not be any more excited! Fall brings so much fun - with great weather, crisp air, fall break, thanksgiving, family time...I could go on and on about the many reasons I love fall! (Not to mention my birthday month!)  I thought it would be fun to put together a fall bucket list of absolute must-do activities for this upcoming season.  Check mine out and let me know what else is on your fall bucket list!

How sweet it is...

...to trust in Jesus.

Just like the old hymn says!  Today I turned to my daily Bible verse and it said:

"If only you could see the blessings God has gone ahead of you to prepare - and He's preparing you hear right now to receive them."
This reminder could not have came on a better day.  My mind has been overwhelmed lately with wanting specific things to happen and being upset because the timeline of my life isn't going how I planned it.  But God once again has reminded me that He has it under control.  That the blessings He will continue to pour out over me are going to be better than I can imagine.  That He knows best and that He knows the desires of my heart.  Maybe God is telling me, "Wait, your heart isn't ready yet for what I have in store."

It's amazing to have such an absolutely awesome God that knows me better than I know myself and who has such a perfect plan for my life that I can't even fathom.

If you ever feel like I have been, just remember that God doesn't make mistakes and that He will keep his promise of a perfect plan for you life.

Week @ a Glance

Happy Saturday! Even though it was a short week, it felt longer than usual, and I'm not quite sure why! Tuesday and Thursday were long days of classes and homework, and on Wednesday and Friday morning I started my observations in a 7th grade classroom at a local middle school.  It was my first time observing for my major (elementary education) and I was so thrilled!  Being there makes me even more excited to be a teacher someday soon.  Each semester from here on after I will be required to be in the classroom, whether observing, aiding, or student teaching.  Of course this makes me happy in itself, but something else exciting is that I need to go shopping to get started on my teacher wardrobe!  Although I love how acceptable it is to wear Nike shorts and sorority t-shirts to class each day, I look forward to dressing up in cute professional outfits!  I think I hear J. Crew calling my name!

I hope y'all are enjoying the weekend! I'm LOVING the fall weather - I can't wait for the leaves to start changing colors and for home football games bundled up on the bleachers!

Labor Day

Happy Labor Day! After today, say goodbye to the white pants!  But I'm not sure who made that rule, so in my opinion, wear them however long you want to.  After all, it is still 90 degrees and sunny so a summery pair of pants may still be necessary!
I'm so thankful for the day off of school even though I'm spending it laboring on homework to get ahead for the week!  Nothing better than starting a new school week with some assignments under your belt.  Weekends are the perfect opportunity to get ahead so you can enjoy some fun and relaxation during the week.
Even though I probably don't need to go shopping, there are some great Labor Day sales that y'all might want to check out!

Enjoy! Xo,

College

Two weeks down and many more to go! So far my semester has been off to a great start and I hope your's has been too!  It's going to be a busy year, but with friends close by and interesting classes, I know it's going to be great!  A lot of my classes have to pertain to my major (elementary education) so I'm definitely excited for that.  This week I start working in classrooms and I can not wait!

Since it's a long weekend with Monday (Labor Day) off of school, I came home for the weekend to enjoy some family time and relax.  We didn't have time to go to my favorite restaurant this summer, so on Friday night we went and I was so happy! It's always fun to get all dolled up - I thought all of us girls' dresses matched so well! (And we didn't even plan!)

I love my family so much and am so blessed by them each and every day!  Thankfully college is not too far away so I can come home easily!

I hope you enjoy your long weekend! Look out for a post about my bedroom at school sometime this week!
