Picture Roundup

It's been a great sunny past couple weeks!

Last week my grammy and I had a baking day and baked three cherry pies! We love baking together - it's always a blast! We typically make apple or blueberry, but we had a few requests for cherry, so ta-da! We usually don't do the lattice pie crust on top, but we were feeling extra fancy and it turned out so pretty (we might end up doing it all the time now!)

I've been loving sitting on my front porch during the day - here is a view! My mom's flowers are so pretty lately and it'd be a shame not to enjoy them.

Also last weekend we celebrated my best friend, Carley's, high school graduation!  I'm so proud of her - and I'm so excited we will be going to college so close together!

Sunrise Sunset

Is there anything better than a summer sunrise or sunset?  So far this summer I've been loving early morning runs and evening bike rides (full of fun times and laying out in the sun in between!)
Here is my view from tonight's bike ride:
Psalm 19:1 says "The heaves declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."  I just love God's beauty that is so present in nature!

Sunday

Church this morning was on Luke 9:23 which says, "And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

Wow - this is a common verse, but when I think about it, it makes me realize how often I don't let Jesus interfere in my every day.  Carrying the cross isn't something that will be easy and it is something that will cause many life and heart changes - it is something that will help us be more like Jesus ~ which is wonderful!

Hope you've had a blessed day!

Summertime!

I took my last final on Monday of this week and I am so happy to be finished with my sophomore year!  This past semester was my favorite semester yet - full of fun memories, lots of laughs, and great friendships.  What a blessing it was to be surrounded by so many lovely people.

Now that the school year is over, summer is already in full swing - yay! After being gone all last summer on a mission project in Virginia Beach (read about that here), I am so excited to spend this summer at home with friends and family.

I made a list of things to do this summer - the list includes thing from "go for a run in the rain," and "watch a movie at the drive in," all the way to "travel to California" (and everything in between!) I've already gotten to check one thing off my list: "Go to a Cardinals baseball game."

I have a feeling this is gonna be a great summer!

Do you have a summer fun list? Let me know if you have any other fun things I should add to mine!
Happy summer, xoxo!

Kentucky Derby

I went to the Kentucky Derby this past Saturday with my best friend Carley and her family - it was so fun and unforgettable! The weather was perfect, the horses were perfect, and the fashion was most definitely perfect.

I loved seeing everyone's adorable outfits and hats! I have never seen so many people dressed up so cutely in one place (170,000 people in attendance).  So much Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, and so many guys in pastel and seersucker and bowties...*insert heart eye emoji*!

I wasn't planning on betting on a horse, but my mom gave me money so I wagered $10 on horse #2 - Carpe Diem.  He was in the top three for the majority of the beginning of the race, but the other horses passed him up in the end. Oh "whale" though, it was still fun to watch and cheer for him.

The night before the derby we were driving to supper and we saw the Vineyard Vines vehicle parked in a parking lot so I begged them to stop so I could take a picture with it (I was wearing VV after all!)

All in all we had so much fun and shared so many laughs together - hopefully I'll have the chance to go again someday :)

Did any of y'all go to the Derby? Love,
