Just Add Glitter

 ...and everything will be okay!

Yesterday I was lacking some sparkle in my day, so I decided to make my favorite chocolate chip cookies - just for fun! This idea took a turn for the better when I was getting the ingredients out and I found a misplaced container of edible glitter.  Maybe I'm biased, but not much can make these cookies better than they already are... And then I added glitter!

I couldn't be happier with how they turned out and it's amazing how something so small can make your day so much more glittery and wonderful!

Hey there, Cupcake!

There simply isn't anything cuter than a cupcake piled high with pink icing topped with sprinkles or sparkles!  I have had many opportunities lately to make cupcakes for baby showers and parties, and here are a few of the simply, adorable ones I love!

When I think of a dream cupcake, it looks something like this:

How fluffy and beautiful is this icing?  It reminds me of cotton candy at a carnival!

Simple. Sparkly. Perfection!

These have to be my favorites lately! The colors are so vibrant and beautiful, the sprinkles are shaped like baby bottles, and I can't get enough of these "Oh Baby!" toppers! (Not to mention that they were for my nephew's baby shower (before he was born and before we knew he was a "he"!))

Have a SWEET week, and remember - happiness is just a cupcake away!

January Review

How is it possible that January has came and gone? I feel like it was just yesterday that the new year began! I started out the month in the beautiful and sunny Dominican Republic, and ended it in the freezing cold Illinois.

Definitely the number one JOY of this month is that my nephew, Winston, was born on January 3! He is a so precious and we are so enthralled by him. I am so excited that I am an auntie and convinced that this is the best role ever,.

Another thing I am happy about this month is that I set a goal for myself to workout 5 out of 7 days of the week. I surpassed this by doing so 6 days each week! AND I got up every school day and worked out before school. This is a big win for me, and I hope that I can continue this trend throughout springtime.  I am so excited to start running more outside too, so I will have to decide a schedule that allows me to do this also, since it won't be light enough outside to run before school for at least a couple more months.

While this month brought good, I have been struggling internally lately, feeling like I am stuck in a season of going through the motions and not fully living up to my potential.  It's difficult feeling like this, feeling like I want more and desiring to do more.  I am living out the dreams I used to have for my life, while being dissatisfied and dreaming of other places and things.  I always thought I knew what I wanted and had my life figured out, and now it's one big question mark for me. Thankfully God already knows the answer to all my uncertainties. I am trying to learn to be patient and wait...and wait...and wait... until He reveals his plan. In the mean time, I must focus on the here and now and enjoy there here and now while looking forward to what is to come. Hint:

Xoxo & Happy February!
