Rejoice

Happy Friday!

But not only happy "Friday," but happy EVERYDAY! Life is not always easy, in fact it can be really hard, frustrating, upsetting, and overwhelming.

John 16:33 says, "I have said these things to you, that in my you may have peace.  In the world, you will have tribulation.  But, take heart; I have overcome the world."

God promises that we will have troubles and hard times in this world.  It is inevitable that we will face rejection, disappointment, and heart break from the world.  But God promises so much more too.  He sent Jesus to overcome the world so that we can have peace, acceptance, and so much love.  He promises to never leave us or forsake us.  He promises everlasting life and love to all who accept Him.

When I am feeling insecure and apprehensive about life, it is so hard to focus on Christ and the perfect love and plan He has for me. But throughout this week, God has continually reminded me of Philippians 4:4: "Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say is again, rejoice!"

Rejoice? Be filled with full delight and joy?  In the middle of this messy and unsure life? In the middle of disappointment?

Yes.  Rejoice!

Why? Because Jesus. What He has in store is so much better and far greater than all the "light and momentary afflictions," as described in 2 Corinthians 4:17.

Whatever you're facing, whatever I'm facing, let's keep our focus on God and truly rejoice in Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances."

And that is what I want to do today, tomorrow, and every day.

Rejoice always and scatter joy!

Love,
