Ski Trip

Hey y'all! I hope y'all have had a nice weekend. I've spent the last two days skiing in Michigan, and it has been so fun! I had never skied before this weekend, and at first I hated it because I kept falling... But my brother kept making me try again and wouldn't let me give up (thankfully). I ended up loving it & I already want to go again!

I also can't believe how snowy Michigan is!!! I almost forgot what snow looked like before this weekend.

Xo, enjoy today!

Beating the Back to School Blues

Today is my first day back to school for the spring semester, and I am still not sure if I am ready to begin a semester full of classes, studying, meetings, deadlines, etc.  My mom said I have the "back to school blues," which is so true.  But, since I don't really have a choice, I am choosing to look on the bright side in order make the most of this semester!  I put together a list of some perks of going back to school:

Routine

I thrive when I have a routine! I love to plan, make to do lists, and be organized with my time.  Although break was nice, there were many days where I didn't have a set schedule and routine, which I loved but it also made me a little frazzled!  Now that school is in session, I am getting back into the swing of things.  I do best when I know what I have coming up each day!

Friends

Quite a few of my best friends are from home, so it was sad when we all had to go back to school.  However, a perk of coming back is that I get to see all of my school friends who I missed!  It's so fun running into people on campus and catching up.

Gym

This might seem odd, but I love the gym at school!  It's so big, nice, and the atmosphere makes me want to work out harder.  That being said, I think everyone made a new year's resolution to workout, because before break there was no one at the gym, and today when I went it was absolutely packed...

Town

I love my small, quaint hometown more than words can describe, but because it is so small there aren't many restaurants or coffee shops or tanning salons (hahaha).  Back to school means that I live right across the road from Jimmy Johns, LA Tan, and Subway... My three favorite things!

Room

I love my pink, Lilly, monogrammed room at school & I definitely missed it over break! It's so good to be back in my cozy room!

Sorry if some of these "reasons" seem weird to y'all, but they're what I like!  What're some of the things you look forward to when you go back to school? I'd love to know!

Lilly Sale

This morning, Lilly Pulitzer's After Party Sale went live!  This is a big deal, because Lilly items only go on sale twice a year: Once in August and once in January!  The way it works, is once the sale goes live, you're placed in a virtual line.  I was so excited because I was 777th in line!!  My mom logged on shortly after me and was like 40,000th, so I would say I did pretty good at refreshing my page at just the right time.

There were (and still are) so many good items on sale (some over 50% off the original price)! When it comes to Lilly, it is hard for me to have any self control, especially when the deals are this good!  It's so easy for me to justify purchasing items when they're on sale, and this morning was no different!  Here are the items that I purchased:

Now I am even more ready and excited for warm weather so I can wear my new purchases!

Enjoy today!!!

My first post of 2016! Happy New Year y'all!!

This past year has been full of great adventures, fun times, and numerous blessings from God.  The other day my mom and on a trip down memory lane of 2015 and thought of all the memories that stuck out to us.  I encourage y'all to do the same, because it is so wonderful to reflect on the past year. and see how God worked. Maybe even write the memories down so you won't forget them!

I am looking forward to what a great year 2016 will be.  I love to make some goals for the new year, and thought I'd share some with y'all!

Health

I love working out, and I am going to try my best to exercise every singly day.  One of my goals is to run a 5K, and if I get ambitious maybe I will even try to run a 10K! I am also going to try to start logging my food intake so I am more accountable with what I eat.  Oh yeah, and I'm going to try not to drink soda and drink more water.

Travel

If I had unlimited funds and unlimited parental permission, I would spend every spare moment traveling.  Unfortunately, that is not the case and my parents do not support my love of traveling as much as I wish they would.  While it is my ultimate goal to go to Europe this year, I don't think that will happen.  But I do want to go to Florida (which my family is planning on going for spring break), to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands (which may happen over next Christmas break), and hopefully New York (but that's not planned!).  Basically I want to be spontaneous and go on as many adventures while I can!

Spiritual

My relationship with God is something that is very important to me.  That being said, I can always improve my relationship with Him.  That begins my strengthening my daily walk with Him, which is something that everyone can improve on.  I will strive to spend time with God everyday by getting into the Word daily as well as enriching and increasing the time I spend with Him in prayer.  I want to feel closer to God, and The Bible in James 4:8 tells me how to do that - "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

Lifestyle

I can not wait to be a teacher someday soon, and because I want to be the best teacher I can be, I want to get as much as experience that I can.  One of my goals for the year is to obtain a summer job working with children.  I want to make opportunities for myself, which will require going out of my comfort zone.  Sometimes it is easy for me to be timid and then become complacent, but it is time that I start going after what I want, being proactive and brave in all areas of my life.

"He makes me brave."  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid.  He will be with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9

Wishing you all a bright and glittery 2016!
