My Classroom

Almost one week under my belt of my first year of teaching. I feel very lucky to have a happy and excited group of 23 fourth graders, and I can already tell it will be a fun year!

While it is inevitable that I will be overwhelmed and stressed throughout this year, I also am anticipating the joys to outweigh the bad.  I know that God has me teaching for a reason, and it is my desire that the students know that they are loved, cared for, and important when they are in my class.

Knowing that I want these students to feel welcome, my first goal was to create a positive, fun, and bright environment! I absolutely love decorating and truly had SO much fun planning and preparing my classroom! Some of the things you see in the photos can be found on my Teacher's Pay Teacher's store, which you can check out here!

As you can see, I have implemented some flexible seating into my classroom for the year.  So far it is going well.  For the first week I wrote the student's numbers in different seats each day so that thy get a feel for the different options and learn about where they think they will do their best work at.  Hopefully within the next couple weeks we will be able to transition to them having more of a choice daily or weekly.

Let me know if you have any questions about where I purchased any items!

If you're a teacher, I hope you have a great year! I would love to connect with you in any way!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

When reading a book recently, I highlighted the following quote: "But how could one live without spontaneity?" I don't think I could... And so when I had a chance to jet set to Cabo, I bought my plane ticket and departed two days later to go to a hot, sunny, and relaxing paradise. Thank you so much to the Biggs' for letting me enjoy this beautiful place!

After having so many exciting travel adventures lately (and honestly being somewhat sad that they're ending for a while), I was thankful to have one final hurrah before starting teaching this year (however that will be an exciting adventure and hurrah in itself, just of a different type!)

I really did nothing while in Cabo but relax in the pool, read, eat, and enjoy.  Couldn't be more refreshed and ready to start something new.  While the sun is setting on summertime and my travels will have to take a pause for a while, I am eager for what is to come and thankful for the beautiful places God has created and allowed me to see.

Blue and White Stripes

I can not get over how cute this blue and white striped blouse is! I am blessed to personally know the owners of the cutest boutique in the area, Thrive Boutique. Not only are their clothes adorable and different than many other boutiques, but their goal is to make all women feel beautiful in the way that God created us to be.  The basis of this boutique comes from the Bible verse Psalm 139:14 that says, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

We were made to THRIVE, and what better way to do so than by wearing adorable clothes with this mission in mind.

Head over to their website now: Thrive Boutique and enter ROXANNE15 to get 15% off your entire purchase!

And if you are excited for fall an like recieving cute surprises in the mail, you don't want to miss out on ordering their Fall Thrive Box by Saturday, August 18!
