Charming Chivasso

I seriously LOVE Chivasso, and when I say that to people who live here, they are so shocked. But I actually think that this town is the perfect place for me to call my Italian home.

In my opinion, Chivasso is so charming and so cute. It is impossible for me to walk or ride my bike through the center without smiling! It almost reminds me of a scene that would be featured in a Hallmark movie: A pedestrian walkway, people walking, relaxing or sitting on benches or standing around and talking and ENJOYING life. In addition, there are many quaint little shops and adorable cafes and restaurants, as well as many places to get gelato.  My favorite time of the day to be in the center of Chivasso is after school, because so many parents pick up their students and walk to get ice cream and then stand around outside eating ice cream and talking together. It is so adorable, I can't even explain it!

I love the size of this town, though most people consider it to be small, it is much larger than my adorable Oblong (but then again, it would be difficult to be smaller). It seems as if many people here know each other, and it’s common to see and hear people greeting one another when walking through town. I love it and it makes me so happy!

I feel so giddy when I walk through town and see one of my students or someone that I recognize from elsewhere and we can exchange a smile and greeting!  This town is so great, and I have determined that the reason that I like it so much is because of the people who live here. I know that my experience here would not be as wonderful as it is without everyone whom I have met and who has allowed me to feel at home.

Forever thankful, so grateful, and knowingly blessed.  I can't believe I only have one week left in this beautiful place. Cue the tears.
