Returning Home

You’re back! How was it? What’re you doing now? Are you happy to be home? Are you going back? Are you going to get a job?
These are questions and comments that have been used to initiate conversation since I’ve been home, and even though I’ve been home over a month now, if I run in to someone who I’ve not seen yet, I can bank on hearing something similar.

It’s cute to know that people care or are interested, but goodness the PRESSURE! I honestly can say that I am happy to be back home right now, and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else during my favorite time of year.  I don’t know what I’m doing now, and my life is one giant question mark.

And as scary and confusing and difficult as that can be, it’s okay. Although I don’t know what is in store, God already knows. He has never failed me and won’t start now.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Isaiah 30:21

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way. Walk in it."

Proverbs 16:9

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

So, here's to the unknown, but also to the here and now. One step at a time, one prayer at a time, and one day at a time.

Xo,
