Varenna and Bellagio are two lovely towns on Lake Como that are easily accessible for a day trip from Milano. Two of my friends and I took the train from Milano to Varenna and enjoyed a day in the sunshine - laying out, relaxing, walking around, and taking in the beautiful surroundings. The sparkling water with the mountainous background is simply breathtaking!
In the afternoon we took the ferry to Bellagio, where we enjoyed the water, colorful buildings, and flowers all around. But honestly my favorite aspect about these two lakeside towns is that they are relaxing and you can enjoy la dolce vita and dolce far niente - the sweet life and the sweetness of doing nothing.
