Constance, Germany

I love sunshiny days, and especially when they are spent in a beautiful place with beautiful people. I recently went to Constance, Germany with the most wonderful family and so enjoyed the day walking around the city and exploring cute streets. Carnival is a large celebration in Europe, described as a renaissance tradition to celebrate the end of winter and beginning of spring (although it used to be a religious tradition). Cities go all out for Carnival, and the streets of Constance we decorated with banners made of material that zig zagged from building to building overhead. They were so colorful, and I loved seeing the views of each street.

Constance is well known because of Lake Constance, which is the biggest lake in Germany. This lake is massive, and it is so so pretty - especially when the sun shines on it and makes the water looks like sparkling diamonds are floating in clear blue water. Constance is also very close to Switzerland! We casually walked across the border and ended up in Switzerland! So cool.

While in Switzerland we walked through a beautiful park along the lake. It was refreshing, beautiful, quiet, and relaxing.

We then went to Mainsu, which translates to Flower Island. I loved seeing the first signs of spring here with all the small flowers budding and blooming. It would be so beautiful in the summer months when all the flowers are in bright and colorful bloom. While here we had such a pretty view of the lake and the Swiss Alps. Such a great day!
