Florence, Italy

The capital of the Tuscany region, Florence is full of Renaissance art and stunning architecture.  I absolutely loved seeing the Florence Cathedral in all it's pink and green glory.  How beautiful!

We also admired the Ponte Vecchio, a medieval bridge that has jewelry shops on both sides as one walks over it! Why aren't all bridges like this? Amazing. And one evening the restaurant we ate at had a perfect view of the bridge all lit up.

Of course we had to visit the Galleria dell'Accademia so that we could see Michelangelo's David sculpture (and yay because we were there on the first Sunday of the month; therefore, this museum was free)! I admit that I'm not too enthralled by museums, so I was especially glad it was free.

I was so thankful that it wasn't raining and that it wasn't too foggy so that we could see the city of Florence from above.  We trekked up to the top of Piazzale Michelangelo and were greeted by a magnificent panoramic view!

An enjoyable day in a beautiful city (spent with my beautiful family)!
