Skiing in the Alps

I’m SO excited because my family is in Italy visiting me! I couldn’t be happier to spend time together!

Our first adventure was none other than skiing in the Italian Alps (seems so unreal). It was so beautiful and there was so much snow! I will be the first to admit that I am awful at skiing, but we had so much fun! There were 23 ski lifts and 46 different trails. The green slopes are the bunny slopes, the blue slopes are the beginner level, red is intermediate, and black is advanced. After only have been skiing one other time in my life, I figured I would start with green and advance to blue when I felt comfortable.

But my brother (who is super good at skiing)  accidentally led us onto a ski lift that took us soooo far up, and the only way to get down was via the red level... It was horrible hahaha. Tyler and Erika whizzed down the mountain, while my mom and I spent most of the time falling down and laying in the snow laughing hysterically, praying that we would get to the bottom, and my dad (bless his heart) stayed with us to ensure we made it. Finally (2 hours later!!) once we got 3/4 of the way down the slope, there was a blue level to take us to the bottom. The blue level was so much better and we were both able to ski without falling down every 5 seconds.

My dad, Tyler, and Erika spent 2 more hours skiing, while my mom and I spend the remainder of the time in the lodge haha. Skiing was fun and the views were picturesque, but I definitely belong at the beach, and not in the mountains.

That evening, we spent time eating and visiting with my Italian families! I love when worlds collide, and I was so thankful that not only my family could meet the people who I spend my time here with, but that my Italian families could meet the people whom I talk about all the time. God is good!

Xoxo,
