Je T'aime, Paris

I love Paris.  Always have and always will! Paris is hands down my favorite city in the world (besides Oblong of course haha).

Step 1: Admire the Eiffel Tower and Parisian buildings while walking to our hotel (that was so close to the Eiffel -  yay)! I am even more obsessed with the Eiffel Tower than I am with the Trevi Fountain.

Step 2: Figure out the metro system so we could visit as many places in Paris as possible in a short amount of time.

Step 3: Notre Dame cathedral. Beautiful! And lunch - and of course we ordered FRENCH fries to go with our meal.

Step 4: Louvre Museum. My dad and I are identical when it comes to museums. We look at the items while we walk, and we don’t stop very often to “admire” or read the information, and if we do it doesn’t take but a few seconds. We stuck together throughout, saw the “highlights,” and when we were finished before my mom, Tyler, and Erika, I wanted to go to the Galleries Lafayette (famous shopping mall). He so graciously obliged!

Step 5: Shopping in Paris! “Power” shopping, because I was trying to cover a lot of the hugeeee mall in a short amount of time! It was so beautiful and so fun, and my dad was surprisingly helpful (and I think he enjoyed it, even though he would never admit to enjoying shopping hahaha).

Step 6: We met back up with the others at the top of the Arc de Triumph, with a nice view of the city from above!

Step 7: The trek up the hill to the Sacre Coeur cathedral, the pink and green La Maison Rose cafe, and exploring the cute and artsy Montmartre District. Our time here included climbing lots (and lots) of stairs, souvenir shopping, and eating Nutella crepes (yum!)

Step 8: Eiffel Tower SPARKLING at night (amazzzzzing)!

40,000 steps later, we returned to our hotel with tired feet and happy memories (and for me at least, a greater love for Paris than before).

*Memories*

When inquiring about how to get a day pass for the metro, I let another gentleman go in front of me, in which he proceeded to talk to me in a language I didn’t understand. And afterwards, the man at the ticket booth tried to talk to me in French. When I said I didn’t understand, he switched to English and told me that the gentleman was speaking to me in Russian because he thought I was from there and he told me I was classy for letting him go ahead of me and that I was beautiful - I love people, and this city is amazing haha!
My ticket stopped working and I got stuck in the rotating entrance of the ticket booth! Erika got stuck a different time too. Funny now, but not then!

Erika asked for directions in the Louvre, referring to a map that she had. The person she asked spoke to her in German, and when she said she didn't understand, he told her that he was speaking to her in German because she was using a German map hahaha.

Xoxo,
